Magnetic Island or Maggie (as the locals say)

That place was mentioned by few of our friends and seems to get a lot of good PR around. So we've decided to pay a visit to Maggie and find out how is she doing.

Took the ferry in the morning and planned to stay most part of the day in there.

It's a big island but not that populated, few small villages around the place. Bus from one end to the other goes in about and hour. Plenty walks if you like bush walking and nice views from mountains. If you are lucky and wondering around in the evening time you might even spot a koala in the wild. It's a nice and quiet place where people come to fish, sunbath and have a nice and relaxing time on the boat. Actually whole families were cruising in the small boats around that place.

We had a small walk in to the bush, hunting for koalas but we haven't seen one yet in the wild. Also we had a stroll in the Horseshoe Bay and Nelly Bay. To be honest nothing exiting.

ahh yes, two things I have to say about the sea in Queensland. First, the further we go north the warmer it get. At the stage when it's not even cooling me down. Second it's about stingers. Unfortunately you are not able to swim in the sea form September till March without stinger suit. They have here most of the toxic and poisonous stingers in this area. Yes! Welcome to the Australia where everything want to kill you :) (snakes, spiders and now fish)

So there you go, that's my experience of Magnetic Island. hmmm well I think it's time to hit the road again. next stop, action packed Mission Beach!
