Surfers Paradise - Really hot Christmas

There has been some storms predicted for Christmas on the Gold Coast but I think we had a miracles going here! Beautiful blue skies! We arrived here on the 23rd of December staying in Backpackers resort. Nice place full of young people mostly from Germany, France, Italy and England, there were few Irish around. Quite typical blend in here.

On the first night we visited a museum... yes that's right out first museum since long long time ago. It was a Wax figures museum and Horror show. Personally I found famous figures not so good and bit disappointing but the horror bit was quite amusing, and what was most frightening, based on history of human kind. Really freaky and shocking. If I could recommend it, I'd definitely recommend the second bit.

Christmas Eve we spend shopping for Xmas dinner, we had a fish, some soup with croutons and different bits and pieces. Poland tradition requires that we have to have 12 dishes on the table on the Christmas eve, of course we weren't that mad to cook 12 dishes so we stretched this tradition a bit. We used total 12 products and ingredients instead :P Potato was 1st dish, fish second, soup third and croutons forth ;p some mushrooms fifth, sauce for potatoes was sixth... you get the idea ;p;p;p

On the Christmas Day, everything was closed, including bars and restaurants so we decided to hang around the beach. Unfortunately beach was closed in whole Surfers Paradise due to very high and dangerous swells. Actually sea took the whole beach!! There was no surfing nor swimming that day and the following day too as the conditions remained the same. So we hanged around the beach sunbathing, playing Frisbee, reading books and other beach activities. First relaxing day we had since we started our trip. We had a chance to recharge our batteries.

On Stephen's day sea conditions remained the same so we've decided to go to see Gold Coast from the 77th floor of the Sky Tower! I wont say anything more, you have to see this. Pictures will follow!!

Later we experienced boxing day shopping madness, I thought that 2nd day shopping madness takes place only in Europe but I was so wrong, it seems that everyone is waiting for this day to buy their shit! Amazing and annoying at the same tame.

Then we decided to visit one of the famous theme parks around the Gold Coast, Wet and Wild! As there was a unbearable heat coming down from the sky, I thought that it will be a good idea to splash around this water park. But the same idea had another 3000 people that day!!! Overflowing car park, massive queues for the rides and ridiculously high price for just of few minutes of fun made us to make our way to next destination!! So we left this fantastic place to explore more!

So off we go to the mountains. A small break from the sea views for the moment!

Talk to you soon!
